The binding on this old #martinguitar was coming off when the owner brought it by the other day. Often, this era guitar has this issue due to the type of plastic used for binding. As it ages, it shrinks and when push comes to shove, the glue joint usually fails. After I clean up the mating surfaces, I’ll reglue carefully. My favorite glue for this is a solvent based, flexible-when-cured cement. Does an amazing job, but if it gets on the nitro finish, will eat right through.
