Have a gorgeous 1880’s #washburnbanjo in for restoration. The old mahogany stick has it’s end mount hole moved at some point to adjust the neck angle. Didn’t work out so well as the end screw ended up cracking the stick. Today I’m grafting a new piece of mahogany onto the original. When I’m done, I’ll recut the stick to be 1/16″ larger at the end and redrilled into fresh wood. Should be able to maintain the proper neck angle and provide a secure, strong connection for the next phase of this little sweetie’s life.
